Area Guide

The resort lies within the Sholayar Forests, home also to the mighty Athirappilly Waterfalls. The falls are the main draw, and staying here means you can visit them early in the morning (around 8:00 AM) before all the busloads of day-trippers from Cochin invade. You can trek down to the bottom of the falls to feel its spray-which is an awesome experience.

Charpa Falls is just five kilometers up the road. This is a roadside cascade that comes alive during the monsoon, and a little further is Vazhachal Waterfalls which is flatter but set within a beautiful park perfect for relaxing. The area forms part of an elephant corridor so the drive itself becomes a safari; it is not uncommon to see wildlife on the roads in the early mornings or late evenings. For a panoramic view one can drive towards Sholayar Dam which offers stunning reservoir views as well as a scenic drive through deep rainforests.
